Proper palliative care can offer you or someone close to you the opportunity to have high-quality end-of-life care that meets your needs, not by hastening death but by making it as comfortable and fulfilling as possible. The primary goal at the West Island Palliative Care Residence is to uphold the quality of life for all patients and to support their families through this difficult period. Our team of physicians, nurses, counselors, psychosocialcare workers and volunteers work together to address the physical symptoms, as well as the emotional, social and spiritual needs. All care services provided by the Residence are without charge to patients and families.
At the Residence, we make a point to focus on life. We want to celebrate it and make this last chapter of a patient’s life as fulfilling as possible. Over the years, we have been host to numerous special activities and celebrations initiated by patients and their families including weddings, birthday parties, anniversaries and we even held a Christmas celebration in October (snow included!). In addition, we offer many innovative services to patients and their families such as art and music therapy.
