Anitra Bostock Appointed as Community Development Manager
The Montreal Institute for Palliative Care is pleased to announce the appointment of Anitra Bostock as Community Development Project Manager.
Anitra’s primary responsibilities will involve creating partnerships with communities and engaging them to build and deliver compassionate programs to support patients and families affected by serious or advanced illnesses. She will also work directly with our research team who will be supporting our efforts to develop “compassionate communities” and measuring their impact on our citizens.
Ultimately, the Institute aims to become a provincial hub, sharing best practices from other projects and our own experience to advance the development of sustainable, community-based programs that will benefit vulnerable citizens and their caregivers. This will be complementary to the work performed by the West Island Palliative Care Residence. To achieve this goal, Anitra will work with municipal councils, community organizations, our research team, and Residence and Institute staff.
Anitra brings with her close to 15 years of community organizational experience, having previously held the positions of Regional Manager for the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities, and Manager of Special Events for the Cedars Cancer Foundation. She is currently a city councilor for the City of Westmount. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Human Sciences from Concordia University.
